PATIENT RIGHTS

Patients must fulfill the following responsibilities after being admitted to a healthcare institution or organization or another healthcare provider:

​

a) Responsibility to comply with the rules of the health institution or institution where the patient is admitted

1. The patient must comply with the rules and regulations of the health institution or institution where the patient is located, provided that it is not contrary to the patient's rights.

2. The patient must comply with the referral chain determined by the Ministry of Health and, if any, SGK.

3. Healthcare from any health institution or organization working with a central appointment system or an independent appointment system.The patient who wants to receive the service should come to the appointment or notify the institution of the relevant changes.

4. The patient must cover the damage arising from the damage to the tools, equipment, medical devices and materials of the health institution.

b) Responsibilities of Personnel

1. Patients should respect all employees working in the Health Institution where the patient is hospitalized.

2. The patient should follow the instructions given by the personnel responsible for the safety of the health institution and avoid any actions that will disrupt the general safety.

3. Patient, hospitalization, etc. must observe the rights of other patients in administrative proceedings.

4. The patient should clearly and completely inform the health personnel about his complaints, previous diseases and disorders, hospitalization history, all the drugs he used and all the details about his health status.

5. The patient should cooperate with health professionals for all kinds of procedures and interventions to be performed during the treatment, care and rehabilitation process after obtaining consent.

6. Patients should comply with the general cleaning and hygiene requirements of health institutions and facilitate the work of cleaning staff.

7. If the patient applies to the Emergency Service, the healthcare professional must comply with the decision and determine the triage level as to whether his condition is life-threatening or worsening.

8. Patients should not make false statements when applying to Social Services Units.

C) Responsibility to follow therapeutic recommendations

1. The patient should listen carefully to the treatment and drug recommendations and ask about all incomprehensible points.

2. The patient should also inform their healthcare professional if they are unlikely to follow therapeutic recommendations.

3. The patient should clearly articulate whether he or she understands the health care and post-discharge care plan correctly.

4. The patient will be personally responsible for all consequences of refusing treatment and not following the recommendations.

5. Patients from health professionals have any action against medical ethics, relevant regulations and community ethics.should not make a request.

d) Other Responsibilities

1. The patient should report in a timely manner details about his health status, social insurance and personal details.

2. Patients should not make derogatory and accusatory statements about health workers and health institutions without relying on concrete cases or documents.

3. Patients should accept their visitors within the framework of the rules determined by the health institution.

4. Within the scope of general responsibilities, patients should do their best to protect their own health, follow the advice given for a healthy life, take care of themselves in simple conditions and donate blood or organs if possible.
